"Lovely service, wasn't rushed. To drive from inland for 2 hours and 45 minutes, specifically for fish and chips, it has to be absolute quality. Like B I G piece of beautiful Cod, big flaky crispy batter, thick cut deep fried proper chips, tons of mushy peas, scraps (batter bits). Unfortunately didn't quite measure up to the expectations. What a shame as the staff were absolutely brilliant Food 3 stars which is slightly above average, service from the girls 5 and atmosphere a 3. A few points docked there simply because as we were eating our meal a young girl came in to our side of the restaurant and literally started dismantling the place, lifting benches, tables etc so she could sweep underneath. I know that job needs doing but definitely NOT while I'm eating my lunch thank you. As always, would I go again? That's the real mark. You find a spot on place you go again and again. No"

"This cafe was pulled out of a time capsule and represents everything that's wonderful about good hearty home cooked food made by a team of amazing women who do us all proud. Honestly, I would travel to New Brighton just because I know it is somewhere that you can get real food, healthy portions that is priced affordably for everyday working folk. I take my hat off to these lovely folk, all I need to do now is convince one of them to marry me! Joke. For clarification, this is not a fine dining experience but it is a healthy, hearty place for a good meal like you'd get at home or at your aunty's place some 30 years ago! 10/10"

"Lovely old school cafe with super reasonable prices. We had two meals, a side, four drinks and desserts and it came to £32. Cannot grumble! Seats are from an old mersey ferry too. Will return! X"

"Classic seaside cafe of yesteryear. Lovely staff, simple but good food, dine-in/outside or takeaway - amazing value for money! Fish & chips with peas twice plus a tin of drink was only £12!! Freshly prepared, no grease on the plate, piping hot and served to our table outside on a sunny day. Perfect."
